How to Steam Tamales

Need a few tips on how to prepare your delicious Tucson Tamales? Tamales can be heated many different ways, but the preferred method is to steam the tamales. Whether you choose to steam your tamales on your stove top or in the microwave, the goal is to heat them to an internal temperature of 165℉.

Stove Top:

 

Remove your Tucson Tamales from the package and leave the husk on. Place with open end up in a stove top steamer. Steam 20 minutes for cold tamales. Steam 30 minutes for frozen tamales. Enjoy!

Microwave:

Remove your Tucson Tamales from the package and leave the husk on. Wrap in a wet paper towel or use our handy microwave steamer. Steam two and a half minutes for two cold tamales and four minutes for two frozen tamales. Remove husks. Enjoy!
